“LEE” is a biopic movie starring Kate Winslet that tells the story of photographer Elizabeth 'Lee' Miller, an American fashion model who became an acclaimed war correspondent for Vogue magazine during World War II.
The movie, set to be released in 2024, covers the most significant decade of Miller’s life and also stars Big Little Lies actor Alexander Skarsgård, Andrea Riseborough, Josh O’Connor and Marion Cotillard.
In this episode, at their TIFF red-carpet premier, I talk with Producer, Kate Solomon about Kate Winslet role as ‘Lee Miller’ and what Lee experienced on the front lines during World War II inside Nazi Germany. And how Miller used her camera to give a voice to the voiceless and, consequently, how her shocking and horrific photographs, taken at Dachau concentration camp and around Europe, remain some of the most historically important of the second world war.
