In February, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — better known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex — confirmed they wouldn’t be returning to their royal duties. Now, less than a month later, the couple sat down with TV legend Oprah Winfrey to talk about their experiences as members of the British Royal family. The interview, titled Oprah With Meghan and Harry, aired March 7th on CBS in the U.S. and on Global in Canada.

Nearly 10 days have passed since the interview aired and its after-math of one bombshell revelation after another are still newsworthy with everyone from The Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William, Beyonce, Serena Williams and Michelle Obama weighing-in on the couple’s decision to leave Royal Life behind.

Before sharing they are expecting baby #2  - a girl, the couple candidly spoke of  their feelings and ongoing relationships with the Queen, Prince Charles, Harry’s brother, Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton. Refusing to stay silent any longer, yet carefully towing the line to reveal enough but not expose all, they expressed their dismay for how Meghan was portrayed in the British media. They also relayed how disappointed they were with the Royals, or as they refer to them, “The Firm/Institution” for their constant lack of support concerning the printing of mistruths about Meghan, as well as issues of racism, their security/protection, Meghan’s mental health, the couple’s son Archie’s skin colour (being that Meghan is half-black) & Archie denied a title, and how they’re surviving without having their royal salaries to sustain them.

But are Harry and Meghan truly the victims they claim to be? Or will we we soon hear the other side of this tale and discover some altered perceptions, omissions, and possible lies that may point to Harry & Meghan’s decision to leave Royal Life not being just about what they said? In this new HOT TOPICS episode, Janette’s reviews, and analysis the interview with her commentary.
